StreetVet Gloucester is a charity supporting pet owners experiencing homelessness in Gloucester. The team of volunteer vets and vet nurses provide free accessible vet care, as well as food and other essentials for the pets. They also journey together through the challenging phase of the owners' lives, providing advocacy and signposting to enable people to stay with the only constant thing they have, their pet. Since launching in 2019, many hostels that used to turn people away if they had a pet, are now able to protect the human-animal bond by providing them with accommodation together, by partnering with the StreetVet team on the ground and joining the StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme.
